"I have to put in a word regarding "Malayalam Television News with Vini Nair". Though essentially a musician, I regularly scan the news based programmes in India and those available through net. This one programme aired from US has captivated my attention because of the clarity of diction and the essential Malayalee touch in presentation! We live in an era of fusion, where language, music and culture crisscross the allowable limits and give birth to blurred imagination and understanding, where the abstract and the absolute hold hands and superficiality rules the roost! This presentation by Vini Nair can be seen as an earnest attempt towards seeking the roots of an ethnic diaspora seeking better pastures outside their homeland, Kerala. In an alien culture, environment and work ethic, we see a proud native holding her head high and speaking her mother tongue, pure and with conviction. Let all Malayalees unite, let them seek their fortunes in the promised land, but let them stand firm on their feet and roots, and teach the next generation their language with pride."
